Day of Mindfulness

in the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh

Ojai Foundation
November 7, 2010 9:30am-2:30pm

In honor and remembrance of the early days Thich Nhat Hanh spent at The Ojai Foundation, we will begin hosting a Day of Mindfulness on the first Sunday of every month.

Come deepen your practice under the canopy of the grandmother oak. Come experience freedom in the silence and majesty of the surrounding mountains.

The day will include walking and sitting meditation, teachings and practices from this Buddhist tradition as well as the ways of The Ojai Foundation, including council. The day will be co-held by a lay teacher from Thay’s Order of Interbeing and an Ojai Foundation facilitator.

We welcome local and LA-based Buddhist sanghas as well as the wider community.

Bring comfortable, layered clothing, sturdy shoes and a sack lunch. By donation.

Feast Bistro’s Annual Wine Dinner Oct. 21

Feast Bistro’s annual Wine Dinner
Thursday, October 21st

featuring Palmina Wines
“Wines crafted from Italian varietals grown
in Santa Barbara County…
Italian by tradition and modern by design”

Chef Susan and Chef Rosie are creating an amazing menu to compliment these amazing wines!

While they work on the menu,
here is a little preview of two we will feature:

2009 Arneis, Santa Ynez Valley
This grape’s “home” region is Piemonte, Italy
Arneis loosely translates to “rascal or “whimsical one” and
Palmina’s version rings true to that with a complexity
that is lean & full bodied with exotic fruit notes

2007 Alisos, Santa Barbara County
80% Sangiovese, 20% Merlot, 100% Palmina style
This delicious wine has an earthy minerality with a bouquet that includes raspberry & orange peel with flavors of cranberry, rose petals, black cherry and a hint of chocolate!
